Different people attach different meanings or importance to time, some wish they had more than twenty four hours in a day and some just ..well,let the time go. Some seem to get so much done in so little time while some just seem never to know what they have to do much less how to go about.
I am not going to talk about time management, which is very important and we will discuss this some other time,i simply want to show you what the value of time means to different people:

.........to know the value of a year, ask an extra year student in a university.
.........to know the value of a month, ask a woman who just had a premature baby.
.........to know the value of a week, ask a footballer with a slight injury.
.........to know the value of a minute, ask the man who just missed a bus and finally
to know the value of a second, ask the man who came second at the Beijing olympics behind Usian Bolt.

It is as valuable as what you ascribe to it,make it count.
later..............................

TOP TEN PICKPOCKETING CITIES

Pickpocketing is a true art and whilst thieves can strike anywhere, home or abroad, tourist hot-spots often yield far richer-pickings. The combination of an awe-struck traveller and a bag bulging with local currency, not to mention passports, cameras and credit cards, is an appealing prospect for any light-fingered thief,” said Amelie Hurst, TripAdvisor spokeswoman. According to Amelie, the top ten cities are:

1. Barcelona, Spain
One TripAdvisor reviewer compares Barcelona pickpocketing to a generally practiced and accepted sport, like football. For those who'd rather stay off the field, take caution: Las Ramblas, the famous wide, pedestrian walkway full of life, music, and people at all hours of the day and night, is the perfect place to get your purse poached.

2. Rome, Italy
With its ancient buildings and astounding historical and cultural attractions, Rome is full of both tourists and incredible things to sightsee. With thousands of people admiring the Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon, it's easy for a pickpocket to lift a camera or purse with a quick snip of scissors or some clever handiwork with a zipper.

3. Prague, Czech Republic
The famously beautiful Charles Bridge is lined with 30 baroque-style statues, as well as thousands of tourists who crowd its ancient stones each year, making a perfect recipe for pickpocketing. Before taking in the view of the Vltava River and the Prague Castle beyond, be sure valuables are strapped down.

4. Madrid, Spain
El Rastro flea-market and the crowded metro are often cited as spots where unfriendly pickpocket schemes can put a damper on a visit to this beautiful city. However, travellers should also beware that in museums ( Madrid has many) pickpockets can be crafty as well, preying on distracted tourists.

5. Paris, France
The City of Light draws enormous crowds from the base of the Eiffel Tower to the steps of Sacré-Coeur and everywhere in between. But enormous crowds can also be found below ground, in the city's metro system, where travellers should be especially cautious.

6. Florence, Italy
It is certainly easy to see why tourists would be distracted by the majestic beauty of Michelangelo's David and the other incredible and awe-inspiring works of art and pieces of history all around Florence . When admiring Michelangelo's creation, or at its replica in busy Piazza della Signoria , be alert that others may have their attention on your wallet.

7. Buenos Aires, Argentina
Buenos Aires is a vibrant and culturally rich city with much to offer, from the famed Teatro Colon to the city's many distinct neighborhoods. However, if while sightseeing you find you are suddenly covered in “bird droppings” (likely mustard) and a “friendly” local (likely a thief) happens to be standing by with napkins to help you clean up, beware.

8. Amsterdam , Netherlands
It's easy to get carried away in Amsterdam with so many fun things to see and do, but don't be too taken in by the canals and the friendly, laid-back atmosphere – pickpocketers have been known to take advantage of countless tourists in this enchanting city.

9. Athens , Greece
This legendary city features countless ancient monuments, many of which are outdoors. Whether visiting the Parthenon on the Acropolis, or anything else in this magnificent historic city, keep the bags close to your chest while your eyes admire the rest.

10. Hanoi , Vietnam
The capital of Vietnam has its charming Old Quarter, littered with monuments and colonial architecture, and the city also features 600 temples and pagodas, making it a beautiful and unique place to visit, but also a place to stay alert for mischief.

TripAdvisor's Top 5 Tips to Avoid Being Pickpocketed

1. Never keep your wallet or valuables in your back pocket, even if it buttons up—it's by far the easiest target.

2. Beware of the distraction tactic, such as dropping something near you, squirting something on you, or simply jostling you. Be on guard when in crowds, and secure your belongings.

3. Pickpockets often work in pairs or groups and it's not just the usual suspects. Be cautious with any strangers—sometimes people who don't look like they'd be a threat, such as children or the elderly, can be part of larger operations.

4. Stay alert in confined spaces and near passageways. Try to avoid standing near the doorways of trains as groups of pickpockets can rush at you when the doors open.

5. Before you set off on a trip, pare down the contents of your handbag or wallet – the smaller the bulge, the less likely pickpockets are to covet it.

NATURAL INTIMACY

When you're down to nothing, God is up to something.'

This is beautiful! Try not to cry.

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: 'How is my little boy ? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him ?'
The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'
Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more ? Where were you, God, when my son needed you ?' The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son ? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.'
Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. 'Would you like a lock of his hair ?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.
The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom'. She went on, My Jimmy had a heart of gold, always thinking of someone else, always wanting to help others if he could.
Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.
The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter, the letter said :
'Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'. I will always love you mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD ! And guess what, Mom ? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom ? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him ? God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children. Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool ? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, i don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me.The Angel said I was a Special Delivery ! How about that ?

Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.

MARRIAGE MYTHS

THE MYTH OF VIRAL LOVE
This myth insists that love is caught, much like a virus. Some enchanted evening when you happen to be in the right place at the right time, it will zap you. You will catch the bug and enter a lifetime of unending bliss! The trouble is, when we are worn out taking care of three kids, two jobs and a second mortgage, the virus subsides. In the whirlwind of dishes, nappies and daily routines, something has to give. So romance vacates center stage and reality takes over. When it does, we confuse romance for true love and so think it (real love) has moved out and that we need to follow it. The truth is, love does not die because romance bows to reality. If two people who once fell in love are willing to stand together in love through the challenges and oppurtunities of ramily life, romance can grow again, stronger and more resilient than ever. Love based solely on romance does not work when for better meets for worse. Romance based on a decision to love till death do us part is the only love that is dependable, consistent and trustworthy. Note, romance brings us together, this kind of love keeps us together!

THE MYTH OF THE RIGHT PERSON
This suggests that happiness in marriage depends entirely on finding the right person. It is said to be a matter of luck, Cupid, the alignment of stars, the moon hitting the eye, e..t.c, and occasionally even God. Just find the right person and they will make your life supremely happy, romantic, excited, fulfilled and blissful. It is always up to the other person. And nothing ever felt more convincingly real or right! Despite the advice of friends and family, we will give away the farm and turn ourselves inside out to keep this addictive, magic happening. When it stops, as it will definitely stop, three things happen: (1) we cry, manipulate, bribe and later blame that right person for changing on us and making us miserable. (2) we label them "the wrong person" and either search for another right person or give up on the opposite sex as being false, faithless and fickle.(3) we learn the truth; there is no right person to make us happy always. At that point we are set free to find happiness by becoming the right person, the one God created us to be, giving generously, allowing others to be real, limited, changeable humans and looking to God for joy.

HOW BAD CAN IT BE?

We don't hear much about Abraham Lincoln's defeats because his victories were so notable. But also notable is the fact that for much of his life the odds were against him. Check these out: His mother died when he was nine. In 1832 he lost an election to the Illinois state legislature. In 1849 he was rejected as the commissioner for the general lands office. He lost senate races in 1855 and 1858, and in between failed to win a vice-presidential nomination. However, the most painful losses were the deaths of his four-year old and twelve-year old sons. Born in the backwoods of Kentucky, Lincoln had only a few months of 'blab school', a school without books where students
repeated the teacher's words. he taught himself mathematics, read the classics and worked on his writing and speaking skills using the bible as his model. His philosophy was, "i will study and prepare, and when the time comes i will be ready". He once told a friend, "bear in mind, your own resolution to succeed is more important than any
other thing". His Gettysburg address is one of the most notable speeches in history. During the darkest days of the civil war he said,"i do the very best i know how and i mean to keep on doing it to the end"

HOW BAD CAN IT BE?

How would you describe somebody who was an accomplished pianist at ten, a professional organist at eleven, had compositions published at thirteen and was a member of the royal court musical staff at fourteen? Privlegded? Born with a silver spoon in his mouth?

Hardly!

Lugwig Van Beethoven was a black-haired, swarthy complexioned, pockmarked boy who endured taunts and name calling in his hometown along the Rhine river, an area of mostly blond, fair skinned children. His alchoholic father decided that Ludwig would support him so made him slave on the keyboard. Looking back, Beethoven could not recall a single moment of childhood happiness!

His life was comprised of work, tears, beatings and angry tirades. In his twenties he encountered another more insidious enemy, deafness. When he could no longer play publicly he put all his energies into composing. His years of deafness were his most prolific! Although at the time his works were not well received yet he influenced many great composers like Brahms, Wagner and Schubert. Nearing death and seeing that the world never fully understood or appreciated him and his music, he said with a smile, " i shall hear in heaven".

Do you feel you have had it bad, or you think if your parents were richer or your parents were alive or if you were more beautiful you will be more successful? Well sorry to disappoint you but there is really no excuse for failure and no matter how hard your past might have been, as long as you have the will, and the faith in God, there will be nothing impossible for you to achieve. The major obstacle in your way is YOU!

Rise up and make the most of your life, you get only one shot at life why short change yourself by dwelling in the past.

Tkare,later

10 THINGS TO NOTE AFTER A JOB LOSS

courtesy: Reader's Digest

The first 30 days after a job loss will no doubt be filled with fear, anxiety and impatience. You might hear experts talk about the importance of updating your resume, leaning on your network of contacts and even starting that hobby you always wanted to try. Here, Ariane de Bonvoisin, author of The First 30 Days: Your Guide to Making Any Change Easier, shares some tips for coping with a job loss that people won’t necessarily tell you about.

1. Give yourself some real time to figure out your next step. That may mean weeks, not a few hours! Don't feel compelled to jump right back into the work force. You will feel some shock—the same way you would feel shock after any loss. Take some time to deal with that. When you are ready to jump back in, keep your options open. This might be a good time to explore a new field that you've always wanted to try but never had the time to, start a business, or go back to school. 2. The next job you take may be a transitional one. Whether it's full or part time, embrace it. Every experience is a valuable one and you never know where it may lead. It's OK to freelance or find part-time work to get some cash flow until you find the perfect new position. In fact, you may find that you don't need a full-time job as much as you thought you did to be happy and secure.

3. Look for companies, not jobs, and change the way you apply. Find companies with missions and values that you can get behind. Employers are much more interested in candidates who have a passion for the company than someone who is just looking for a paycheck. Remember, your resume and cover letter are not unique. With the huge number of layoffs today, there are likely to be many more people you have to compete against for a single position. You have to find new skills and new selling points in your abilities to highlight on your resume and your social networking pages.

Your reputation and your online persona play much more of a role in getting you a new job than your resume or your cover letter ever could. Your profiles on Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn should be spruced up and optimized as much as possible to make you as attractive as you can be to a potential employer. And don't forget to Google yourself to see what comes up.

4. Celebrate—maybe even take a vacation. You probably didn't take time away while you were at your last job—use this period of adjustment to break free. It'll give you a chance to get some perspective. Have drinks or a party and celebrate being laid off. Put a positive spin on this. Enjoy yourself. This will be one of the few times in life that you're unencumbered by work. Read. Sleep. Do all the things you never get to do...believe it or not, you'll miss this time when it's gone.

5. Use your health insurance while you still have it. I bet you haven't been taking care of yourself or haven't had the time. Get a full physical, go to the dentist. You can also explore meditation, acupuncture, or other complimentary therapies that can help you de-stress. Finding your next dream job is an endurance test and requires a lot of energy. Start eating well, do a cleanse, and go to the gym. Your energy and self-esteem will get a boost and this will be felt by everyone around you, including future employers.

6. Realize that something good will come from this (I call this The Change Guarantee). Write it down somewhere visible. In the end, this job loss is probably a good thing. Make yourself write a list of 3 things that help you see the upside from this downside. You'll end up better off, no matter what. You may not see it now, but you'll triumph over this job loss in ways you couldn't imagine.

7. Don’t rehash the story, blame something or someone for the loss or explain it to everyone ad nauseam. Blame never accomplishes anything. Don’t get addicted to your story: Why you got fired or how unlucky you are. It will hold you back. There is no shame or embarrassment to be had. Every successful person has lost a job at some stage. Instead of feeling shame, honor this as just a life change that will make you stronger. Stick around optimistic people, not victim circles. Ask yourself, "Who are you not thinking of that can help you?" And also, "Who is holding you back?"

8. Always frame things in the positive. Say things like "I'm excited I'm back in the job market. It has given me a chance to really go after a job that I love," as opposed to, "I recently got fired/lost my job." People who are optimists and have positive beliefs will always get through this change better than others.

9. Let go of the way life should have gone. Resisting the job loss causes more pain. Sometimes you know why you were fired, sometimes you just don't. Don't waste any time figuring it out. Be mature about anything you feel may have contributed to it. See the difference between reality and illusion (reality is you lost your job, illusion is you'll never find another job.) Take a moment to go inside yourself, get silent and listen to your intuition. Some of your best ideas will come when you slow down enough and tune in.

10. Looking for a job is now your job. It may take a lot longer to find a new job than you think it will. Many people are running out their unemployment benefits, taking six months or more to find a new job. You might have to settle for less. We're in a tough economic climate and the dream job you want might not be available for the next few years. Some jobs leave the market and never come back, and you may be facing that reality. Don't get discouraged. Remember, even in a bad economy, there are always jobs for good people.

BE NOT WEARY IN DOING GOOD...

The name Corrie ten Boom is widely recognised in christian circles but few people know about her nephew Peter, who was also intrumental in saving Jews from Nazi persecution. When Dutch christian patriots heard SS troops were sending Jewish orphans to concentration camps, they smuggled kids out of orphanages and took them to the ten Boom house until they could be placed for adoption. At sixteen, Peter, a committed christian, defied the Germans by pulling out all the stops on the church organ and playing the Dutch national anthem while the congregation stood up and sang. He was imprisoned for his defiance. After world war 2,he travelled the world with the message that forgiveness is the only answer to hatred. On tour in Israel Peter had a heart attack and needed surgery. While discussing the night before the operation, the cardiologist asked, "are you by any chance related to the ten Booms of Holland"? Peter replied,"yes, that is my family". The doctor responded"i am one of the babies your family saved". Next day the baby whose life was saved some forty years earlier repaid the death by performing the surgery on Peter free of charge and saving his life.(courtey: the word for today).
Whatever good our hands find to do let us do sincerely with our hearts as if our lives depended on it because actually, our lives could some day depend on it. Remember, whatever a man sows, same he will reap.
tkare

HOWFAR WITH OUR GOALS?

Whats up,whats happening, how are you doing? Remember we agreed at the begining of the year to list out our goals for 2009 as adviced by Ayo Oladejo at www.ayooladejo.com, well i just want to remind myself of how far i have come and how much i still have to do with God by my side. You can scroll down to see a list of my own set goals. So far i am grateful to God for his mercies and guidiance and that fact cannot be over stressed. As regards the goals, the first on the list is to pass my outstanding business and that has already been achieved. This goal is actually the most important because it is a prerequisite for another goal. I am grateful for your prayers and numerous support. I will also want to mention the impact of a friend that sticks even closer than a brother, Temitayo Akanni, i am very grateful.
Do have a wonderful time.

BULLET FOR CHRIST?

While preaching to a 2000-member congregation on a Sunday morning service, a preacher saw two men wearing hooded jackets walk toward the pulpit. When they got to the side of the pastor, both men faced the congregation and brought out sub machine guns from underneath their jackets. With everybody terrified both men announced and i quote "anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ should remain seated". Before they finished talking members of the congregation had started setting on each others head trying to get out, either through the window or door or any available opening. The first people to escape were the choir members, then the group of elders that sat not too far from the preachers podium. After the chaos had ended, there remained only the pastor and about 3 elderly members of the church. The two men then turned to the pastor, removed their hoods and said"now you can begin the service,we have gotten rid of the hypocrites"! And both men left the church.
I do not pray to have my faith tested as such but each day i face much easier tests of my allegiance to Jesus and i goof just because someone does not think it is cool or it is not tush. So please read with an open mind and be inspired.........................

We begin this new year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism. Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threathened by the financial illness that has affected our families, organisations and nations. Everyone is desperate to find a remedy that will cure their financial illness and help them recover their financial health. They expect the financial experts to provide them with remedies, forgetting the fact that it is those experts that created this financial mess. Every new year , i adopt a couple of old maxims as mybeacons to guide my future. This self-prescribed therapy has ensured that with each passing year i grow wiser and not older.
This year i invite you to tap into the financial wisdom of our elders along with me and become financially wiser and stronger.

Hardwork: All hardwork bring a profit, but mere talk leads to poverty

Laziness: A slepping lobster is carried away by the water current.

Earnings: Never depend on a single source of income (at least make your invesment your second source of income)

Spending: If you buy things you don't need. you will soon sell the things you need.

Savings: Don't save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving.

Borrowings: The borrower soon becomes the lenders' slave.

Accounting: It is no use carring an umbrella if your shoes are leaking.

Auditing: Beware of small expenses, a small leak can sink a large ship.

Risk-taking: Never test the depth of the river with both feet,(always have an alternative plan)

Investment: Don't put all your eggs in one basket!

I am certain that those already practising these principles remain financially healthy. I am equally confident that those who resolve to start practising this principles will quickly regain their financial health. Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life.

Whao, what more could i ask for.

Well i have a confession,i did not have lunch with the man,i copied this from www.funandfunonly.net .They have some fun and cool stuffs their.tkare

EVEN BABIES KNOW

WHOA, IT SEEMS EVEN BABIES KNOW AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. One important point to note is that it is the only commandment that has a promise attached to it!!! In full,it states "honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you"(Exodus 20:12). Did i hear someone say wholesome promise?i totally agree with you.

I believe the promise is easy to understand but the condition for the promise is what i am actually blabbing sorry blogging about and i want to ask; who is my father and my mother? I will want to look at this question from two viewpoints

Actual father and mother and any other person older than you

Anyone who gives you a headstart in life.

Actual father and mother and any other person older than you: I mean your parents and any other person older than you should be honored and respected, even when they don't deserve it and especially when they do not deserve it. I agree with you that some parents and elders do not deserve to be honored but i also want you to know that it is not your place or prerogative to reward them for there actions. So either they deserve it or not, honor and respect them because it is the right thing to do and also because someone who will be in your present position is watching your present actions.

Anyone who gives you a head start in life: I want to say that the consequence of dishonor to this group of people is very grave and serious, physically and spiritually. Any person that gives you a head start in life is any person that gives you an opportunity to be someone or "lifts you up" from one level to a higher one and this person or people deserve to be honored. Higher level could be your first job or a better job, a connection to someone,a teacher or a mentor. The person could be anything to you. He or she might be older or younger, richer or even poorer, but whatever the status, the person should be honored both in his presence and more so behind his back. Dishonor to such a person for whatever reason can be likened to betrayal, it puts you at odds with the person and other people see you as an unreliable person that cannot be trusted.

Keep in mind that the reward of honor to those it is due can never be quantified,do your best to be an honorable person. Later.

HOW ABOUT A RIDE?

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Babies aged six months to ten months watched a large-eyed toy try to climb hills, while other toys either helped it or pushed it backward. The children were then "presented with the toys to see which they will play with", explains the Houston Chronicle. "Nearly every baby picked the helpful toy over the bad one". So to some extent, "even infants can tell the difference between naughty and nice playmates, and know which to choose", says the newspaper.

Culled from Awake magazine, november 2008 edition.

XMAS GREETINGS

As the song goes,"joy to the world,a child is born...", it is wonderful to be alive yet at this time of the year, only God deserves all the praise for His mercies, love, guidaince, provision, grace, favour and many other things that are so numerous to mention,He deserves all the praise.

I just want to wish you a very merry xmas filled with love, joy and lots of chops. As a result of this,i just stumbled into the year that is 2008 and went thru each day as it came not with any particular plans. I do not want the same to happen next year so i decided to find out how i can improve on my planning and i was lucky to read a very inspiring post on a friend's blog: http://www.ayooladejo.com/, on setting goals and i have decided to try it out. He offered a number of useful suggestions but i find about four very touchy and applicable to me and a lot of people i have run the issue across and they are:

Writing of your goals clearly that even a "blind person" can read them.

Have specific plans on how each of the goals is to be achieved and time frame for each goal,it should as much as possible not be open-ended and

You should inform knowledgable people that know you and have your interest at heart know the goals and help be guides in your journey to achieving them.

Commit them to God....................most important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that if my goals are well written and the plans to achieve them are feasible and reasonable, and if i have people who i look up to that are monitoring my steps towards my set goals and i am in constant touch with God as regards the next step to take, i am sure that with God's help the goals will be achieved, even beyond my imagination.

Start thinking of your goals for 2008,if you have not already set them, i am also preparing mine and as soon as i get them set i will post them right here and i will want all of you to serve as checks and guides for me during the new year.

thanks, remember, let nothing limit the extent of your imagination.
